This is my story
Fat child, fat adolescent, fatter adult!!!!
After too long a dieting history to bore you with, I had a gastric balloon fitted in 2001. i did well with this losing just over 2 stone in 6 months, but some 6 years later I am back to square 1 and some!!!
As a nurse I have not rushed into surgery but have researched quite extensively, and have decided to opt for a gastric band. My op is planned for April 2008. I am not expecting dramatic weight loss but rather am expecting long term assistance with managing my weight. I like the idea of the band helping me to gain more control over the portions that I can eat.
I have been impressed and inspired by the blogs of those who have had bariatric surgery and so I shall aim to do the same in an effort to help others in the same boat.
