This is my story
My name is Michelle and have been a diet addict for years - I remember going to my first slimming club at the age of 13 !!
I do not diet any longer and am a bandster. I have been one since August 2004 and have lost just over 14 stone.
Hallelujah for weight loss surgery - I didn't cheat having a band , I just woke up to the realisation I had a food addiction and ultimately it was stifling me and stopped me living a normal life ..........
Having lived the 'journey' I worked for weight loss surgery providers in the marketplace and developed a passion for helping patients fully understand the benefits and pitfalls of weight loss surgery.
It quickly became apparent to me that aftercare was crucial to success and for optimising weight loss. After listening to so many patients who had not received the care they were ‘sold’ I decided to create a company that really does deliver what it promises...

Because of the weight I was when I had surgery (just under 25 stone) I guess I always saw banding as a first intervention for me and controlling my weight. I lost over 10 stone with my gastric band, however, as I had a big band I found restriction an issue and hardly felt any !!
I went on to have further surgery in April 2007. I lost a further 5 stone and also ‘protected’ the weight I had lost with my band aand boy I wasn't ever going back to the 60 BMI that I was !!
I do still have my gastric band and I use it in exactly the same way as everyone else does it’s just that I also have a malabsorptive element to my surgery.
