This is my story
My name is Annie and I am 18. My whole life I have always been a little "pudgy" and I didn?t do anything about it until I was in fourth year in secondary school. This is a year in school where you have a year off of heavy schoolwork and get to know yourself etc. and at the end of the year in our school we put on a variety show. so I decided I wanted to look good for the show so after my junior cert (a big exam) I started the diet and it went great I had lost 3 1/2 stone and the complements from everyone was great especially from the guys!!
I didn?t know until later that year that I had done it all wrong! actually thinking about it know I think I may have been verging into an eating disorder as the during the last 2 months before the show I really worked hard to lose the weight, unknown from my family they thought I was doing the diet properly I would eat two slices of dry bread and a cup of tea in the morning before anyone also got up and I didn?t eat anything else until dinner at five and all I would eat was a scoop of veg and 3 scoops of potatoes and that was my day but I also included a 1/2 hour really strenuous workout in the morn and then an hour walk in the evening to burn it all off!!
but it soon all stopped after about a month of the show I discovered I had an ovarian cyst in my right ovary and they may need to remove the ovary and this was scary for me as when I was 12 I had a huge twisted ovarian cyst in my left ovary and it all had to be removed including the ovary. so from hearing I wont be able to have children at the age of 16 was depressing as I really wanted kids and I knew I could adopt etc. but I really wanted to experience the whole pregnancy stage. So of course when you?re depressed you turn to food and that?s what happened to me I actually became addicted to brown bread and jam!! So the ponds came back on and I didn?t care at the time because of the predicament.
Fast-forward, the operation came and they told me I had a surgeon that was awarded the best surgeon in Europe award before so I was in good hands and he saved the ovary! but what he decided to do afterwards was to prescribe me the pillto help prevent a third cyst coming which some of you may know is that a side effect is weight gain and for me I gain a half a pound a week on it so of course it all piled back on and here I am today wanting to lose it all again but the proper way!
