Volunteers Wanted with raised cholesterol levels
BuddyPower has teamed up with www.checkforchange.co.uk and Flora pro.activ, aimed at raising awareness of the links between the menopause and raised cholesterol levels.
If you would like to get involved and think that your cholesterol levels have risen as a result of the menopause and you feel comfortable speaking about your experiences then we would love to hear from you.
What would this involve?
• We would test your cholesterol at the start of the three weeks and then again at the end.
• We would provide you with a three week supply of Flora pro.activ – you would need to take one mini-yogurt drink each day.
• We can offer support from our nutritionist in the form of a telephone consultation.
• We would need a recent photo of you for our records and would need to some background information about you.
• If you successfully lower your cholesterol we would then look to place your story with either a national newspaper or women’s weekly/monthly magazine. Your story would be handled sensitively and we would work with you and the journalist closely.
The purpose of placing your story is to show other women how they too can lower their cholesterol and raise awareness of the need for women to test their cholesterol at the onset of the menopause.
